Hotas joistick for SW squadrons

Not gonna lie I am hyped beyond comprehension. I have no clue about joysticks, can someone recommend something with separate throttle? I don't want anything expensive since most likely it will be only game I will use it for, but I don't want it to break or recalibrate after a month either. I'll be playing on PC btw.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

  • @Danoniasty I mean, without giving specific recommendations, a good set-up is usually expensive. You can also opt for second-hand. That said - depends on your view of expensive. Do you have a budget to work with?
  • @Zoutepoel I'm based in UK, and look to spend no more than £100-150. New or second hand doesn't really bother me as far as it's working properly
  • @DanoniastyThe Thrustmaster 16000M is probably one of the cheapest decent entries into the HOTAS setup. I own the joystick but not the throttle. I use it as a secondary joystick (HOSAS) for Elite Dangerous (I have a Logitech 3D pro joystick that I prefer as my main).

The joystick seems fine, nothing spectacular but I have no issues with it. I obviously cannot comment on the throttle.

I purchased a used X52 throttle (not the stick), so another option would be to buy a throttle and stick separately that have a combined cost in your price range.

My main concern is: joysticks will be compatible? Neither Battlefront or Battlefront 2 supports HOTAS

@Player20092 I think my best bet at the moment is looking for used ones on eBay. For some magical reason most of them are out of stock everywhere in UK and if they have some prices are ridiculously inflated
  • Best recommendation i can give you is to look at the T-Flight HOTAS X

    https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-T-Flight-Hotas-Flight-Stick-PC/dp/B001CXYMFS

It's $60 on amazon and a really good entry level stick, it's what i started on. The throttle can detach and be spaced around a keyboard which is nice. Only downside is it doesn't have a whole lot of buttons for more intense flight sim games, but if this is the only one you're playing, you should be good!

I'd also recommend, if you really enjoy the HOTAS experience after getting this, try a TrackIR 5. A bit pricey, but the added immersion is amazing! (That being said, i'm not sure if the Devs have confirmed support for it or not though, so keep that in mind!)

Just to add in addition tot he above suggestion. The Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X is the same systems used for the HOTAS One (XBOne) and HOTAS 4 (PS4) all of which are compatible with the PC. and as the game is across all these platforms, might actually make this the ideal HOTAS system. I have the HOTAS 4 and have found good on both the PC and PS4.
