Hud Symbology Explanation

Is there a place that explains all the Hud Symbology for example the targeting symbols Green Square vs Green Diamond and the various pointers. I also get a red box around the target sometimes; also pointers that appear to be pointing off screen and they tend to change color between yellow and red.
