Imperial bomber

Imperial bomber indestructible! In a tank build it have more then 5000hp points ,Y-Wing in tank build have only 3200(shield+armor)

In a ranked game you always lose against 5 TIE Bombers .Its take ridiculously time to kill it even with best cannons on interceptor!

What point of fighters if they cant shot down bombers?

So all ranked games going on bobmbing runs !

Fix you game!I

I’ll be the first to say: maximum 3 ships of the same type per squadron in order to avoid cheese, or implement a strong anti-cheese mechanic for balanced squadrons.

@Merc_Security Sooner or later you'll find that TAW isn't the place to be ( unless you're a braindead USA citizen ). Trust me, me and a lot of my friends have been there.
  • This game used to be about piloting, shooting, aiming with some precision and having fun. Now that the meta TIE Bomber has arrived.... the game lost its balance... if it ever had any. Good job EA, you did it again!

  • Basically people like Imp Bomber but want it nerfed... okay.

  • Yeah, the strat everyone seems to be using is to put double plating on it and then use the auto target lasers. The lack of maneuverability doesn't matter because they don't need to aim and not like they need to turn either because it takes over a full charge of continuous laser fire to kill them. So you literally start shooting at them, run out of ammo, fly past (because they are hardly moving), then have to turn around and do it again. by which time they have been healed by the support ship and your buddy is dead because there is almost nothing you can do to out-fly the homing lasers (which are OPAF in their own right). This game is about dogfighting, why is the best way to play not moving and not aiming?

  • I have never used, nor plan to use the auto-aim lasers for any ship. The DPS is tanked so bad, I would consider it a last resort. Personally, I like putting the light hull on the T/B for more maneuverability and use the gattling gun with as high DPS as possible. It's fun shredding a-wings in the blink of an eye.

  • Well, let’s look at TTKs shall we?

The basic DPS is 450 for an X-wing, 480 with burst cannons.

“Raw” downing a 4800 HP bomber takes 10 seconds of perfect fire with burst cannons. Not “pretty good fire”, not “I’m pretty sure like 80% of my stuff hit” fire, a straight 10 seconds of pounding the crap out of it without one missed bolt, let alone a missed burst. Not one evasive move by him, or anything less than a perfect track by you all while no one else shoots at you.

From the front, he will put out enough DPS auto aimed to down any non-bomber out there. Plus, an assault shield will turn three of those seconds into one second...meaning we are now at twelve seconds of perfect fire.

if we adjust for reality and say you hit with a lovely 80% of your shots...well then, now the “raw” time it takes to kill a bomber is as long as the respawn timer.

Yes, there are specialized counter builds. Yes, tight coordination, experience, and having the precisely right load out in your options can give you a chance.

But basically you’re saying you need to play a perfect game either in synchronized builds or in an uninterrupted quarter minutes of gunfire at just the right point before it can bomb the target...and the rando just needs to click “yes, I’d like a TIE bomber. “ And is you falter at all, the bomber(s) get through and kill the caps pretty damn fast.

That is not what bombers are supposed to feel like. Bombers are supposed to be a precious cargo delivered in just the right circumstance as your fighters sweep the way or they die helplessly,  not a nearly guaranteed    means to win unless your opponent plays an immaculate game.

  • I have equal fun flying both Tie Bomber and Y-Wing. Also Y-Wings can be pretty damn hard to kill taking ages to bring them down if pilot knows what he is doing and manages his shields properly.

I agree. A TIE Bomber has enough DPS to destroy anything in front of it, shields to max or not, and if they pass you in the joust, they'll just boost towards their target.

Ion Rockets don't really work, since these TIE Bombers usually fly in a straight line anyway, and they recover from ions extremely fast.

Most of these bombers fly with suicidal engines, they don't even need to drop their payload to do critical damage to MC75 subsystems or heavly damage/outright destroy their pursuers.

I haven't yet had a Fighter Battle in which I picked the TIE Bomber (without suicidal engines! just mines and unguided gatling gun) and haven't been on top of the scoreboard.
