Legacy controls for Battlefront for xbox one not working

I just bought Battlefront for the xbox one.  When switching to the Legacy control scheme the left thumbstick won't work.  My character will very slowly turn left or right and that is it.  Is there so...

It just really stinks to own the game finally and not be able to play it. It just sits there and pisses me off. I could have bought Halo 5 or Fallout 4 and be happy playing either of those, but I'm out $80 because I bought the Deluxe version.
