Sorry to hear that your progress seems to have been reset. You're right in thinking that linking a different email to the game was the cause. As progress is stored at the EA account level and not on individual platforms, if you unlink your original EA account and re-link your platform to a different EA account, you'll lose access to that progress.
Unfortunately, we are unable to support account-related requests like yours here on the forums. You'll want to try contacting EA support to see if the original platform can be re-linked. Thanks!
