Multiplayer hand not available in split screen survival mode for both players.

Both me and my friend have EA accounts and play starwars battlefront and have unlocked star-cards in multiplayer mode. We play split-screen survival mode together and have both completed all of the missions on hard mode, unlocking our multiplayer star-card hands for that mission. However when we play split-screen survival mode together only one of us is able to select a multiplayer hand to use for that mission. The other player is left to choose between the two default hands for that mission. This really sucks that we have both unlocked star-cards that we are unable to use. Is there a work-around or a solution?
