Names and Squadron tags in Multiplayer Customisation

I'm playing on Steam and so far the only way I've been able to change my name in MP is to change my Steam name. I fly with a bunch of friends had we've created a squadron name for ourselves but we can't figure out how to each change our gamer tags to reflect this.

I'd like to see a option, in the account area perhaps, to be able to modify our names accordingly to allow for use to better identify each other in game.

For example;
Name: Biggles
Squadron: Rogue
SQN Number: 9

This would show up in game as
"Rogue 9 - Biggles"

I think it would increase immersion and promote team play. I wouldn't bother making it Empire or NR specific, we can't really choose which side we play on so this would make this confusing. Would anyone else want to see this?
