Not detecting Rift S

Trying to play Star Wars Squadrons with my Oculus Rift S. My headset works completely fine until i start squadrons and it tells me it can not detect it? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Drivers related matter I think, by the sound of it. The Game just doesn't see the Drivers. I'm not familiar with VR at all, so I don't even know what System the ORS is for. If it's PC, try looking around, maybe even a reinstall of the game. I sometimes try using the rather clumsy method of actually placing copies of DLL files inside the directories of games, though this mostly applies to Portable USB Applications that move around from System to System. It can sometimes speed up some games on old or low-spec systems. Though it's very crude.

I'm not an expert, and I don't have a clue about VR Systems, but sometimes a little experimentation and trial and error is the best way to find a solution. All the best to you.

Do you play via Steam or Origin? Did you install Steam VR? Is the Oculus software running? I have the Origin version and the Rift S is only detected, if the Oculus software was started before switching to VR in game. Please note that the Origin version always starts in 2d and switching to VR in game is necessary.

I play it with steam, I have tried the different ways of starting it. What ever I do my headset gets disconnected.

  • Thank you, will try reinstalling it and I am still looking at other options.
