What do you expect to see? The message should go away when I reconnect the controller - or it should just recognize that I have the HOTAS connected and still can navigate the game.

  • You can set time until controllers turn off to 'Do Not Turn Off' to make it less annoying.
If the controller runs out of battery and it happens, you have to quit out- so you lose your XP and it goes down as a loss.

    Great advice.

What I started doing is only use the HOTAS to navigate with too. I just leave the controller off. Should be an easy bug to fix though.

  • Yeah that's ideal- but unfortunately the HOTAS doesn't have audio support, so you have to use the dualshock if you are using party chat, annoyingly. If only PlayStation supported Bluetooth chat headsets 😩

I am using PSVR so I use a headset connected to it and the built in mic. And in other games I use a surround headset and a USB mic. I never use audio through the Dualshock. I have never tried it 🤔

  • Please help us out with this one EA!! For a game that's so delightful with a Flight Stick, having to fully exit-out of the game in the middle of a match to reset this screen is heartbreaking...

  • Here’s a workaround:

    1.  Turn PS4 on with DS4.
    2.  Turn on HOTAS controller, assign to user when prompted.
    3.  Turn off DS4.
    4.  Launch Squadrons.

this worked for me, played 4 hours of VR Squadrons with no interruption.  (From kids or DS4 either😃)

  • @The Latman Absolutely. I just use the controller to turn the PS4 on and hit the ps-button to turn it off immediately. Then I log on using the HOTAS.
However - it is convenient to use the DS to navigate sometimes, so I look forward to a fix.
