Profanity Filter

Can you text chat in game? Does it have the option to remove coarse or offensive language? I know in open beta swearwords weren't suppressed in text chat.

On the PC version of the game, yes you can.  On consoles, there is no in-game chat.

As far as hiding course language, your only option would be to set the chat to "Hide" in your settings, so it will not pop up at all.  Other than that, there is nothing else you can do.

  • This Answers HQ has auto profanity filter? Star Wars Battlefront forums has auto profanity filter? Meaning swearwords are automatically removed from posts before it is posted.

I don't think EA puts the filters in games but the development studio. This game also has an age limit of 16+. Not that that would be a reason to start swearing 😉

Answer HQ is accessible for young children as well. In the Plant vs Zombies (think the game is for age 6 and up) forums, certain people are swearing over nothing. Like 1 character being overpowered and then resort in swearing.

Let's be glad we can chat in SW:BF, unlike FIFA 16 for instance, since you'd probably never hear a lot of positive comments from most opponents. You can always report someone when he/she is harassing you by looking him up on Origin and send a report. Or use the option in game.
