Purpose of Emotes?

Am I missing something?

I don't know where I can use my emotes, other than the 3 seconds that I am ready to take off for my mission. I can barely kick it off before the mission starts. I spent some good money buying emotes thinking they would be cool to use, but I never use them because there really is no place to use them it seems.

  • After you chose your spaceship you can press Esc to close the menu. You will find yourself in the lobby where you now have two minutes to spam your emotes because there is always someone from the New Rep that doesn't ready up.

  • I can say "Hello there!" in briefing room before the fight. 🥳

    Some greetings for other players.

(No special meaning, just a salutation.)

  • The only thing I don't understand is why I can never say the basic "Yes" or "No."  I can use all my paid, equipped emotes.

I think there's a bug that makes them stop working sometimes after you equip new emotes. Same happened to me.

  • Emotes are there so you have at least something to do in the briefing room, while 9 ready players wait for that one special snowflake to hit the ready button, yet knowing deep inside they'll have to wait until the timer counts down anyway...

  • LOL, yeah I guess they are more useful when others have not readied up and you can emote at them. Or in fleet battles when you are talking strategy. It would be nice to have a place where you could go just to chill out in the game and chat while you wait for sqaud mates to come online.
