Re: BLACK SCREEN WITH SOUND HELP!

Working at the moment with some stutter given my less than ideal specs, but it is working.

Tried the user.cfg file first, but that didn't work at first, because it is basically a text file (user.cfg.txt) so i then used the cmd (old dos window) under windows and changed the file from a text file to a *.cfg file as it is probably how it is suppose to work, also for good measure disabled the origin support for the game as it was suggested.

1. Create the file as suggested (user.cfg  with notepad). If you don't know how to navigate copy the file to the desktop or the root (C) for easy access.

2. Open the command window. Click on start and on the search box type cmd, hit enter, this will open the command window.

3. Locate the file and convert it to a cfg file. Once located the file (and within the same location where the file is), type "copy user.cfg.txt user.cfg", should result in another file, copy this last file to the folder of the game installation.

4. Start the game. Give it a couple of minutes, then it should show the welcome screen with RTD2 and C3PO, happy gaming.

Hope it helps some folks.

  • Same problem again. Start in windowed mode, see the EA and SW logo, but when goes to fullscreen, freezes again.

I really don`t know what I have to do now. I`m out of options and mad about this thing.

The user.cfg is working now when you save the text file make sure you remove the .txt part otherwise it will not save it has a .cfg file it will just be a regular note pad file and will not work

I have managed to fix my cfg file was saving as a text file without me knowing once I changed this it worked!! - go to my computer press alt and then tools and folder options.  un tick box for hide extensions for known file types. Go to your cfg file that you created and you will see there is a txt on the end, remove this and then hopefully it will work for you as it did for me (and my son)
