Re: Can i really only link one psn account ever?

Hi @GrizllyAdams

To confirm did you create a new PSN account when you got the PS5? You can sign into the same PSN account you have from PS4 to PS5.

For information on linking a new account or unlinking an older account from EA, check out our help articles below. Please be aware there are permanent changes that occur when you link or unlink an account, which is further described in the links below.

Cheers!

  • I did create a new psn account. The old psn account was linked to an email I didn't use anymore so I couldn't recover it. I then unlinked that psn. Made a new one. And tried to link it. I was then informed that it was impossible. I'm also not trying to lose everything on my ea account by making a new one.

    Hi @GrizllyAdams

Thanks for the additional details, to confirm EA accounts can only have one platform account linked to it, this is mentioned in the first link I posted above:

You can only link one type of platform account to your EA Account once in its lifetime. For example, if you unlink an Xbox gamertag from your EA Account, you can’t link a different Xbox gamertag to the same account in the future.

I would recommend reaching out to Sony for assistance with the PSN account, if you are unable to then you would need to create a new EA account to connect to the new PSN account.

    Thanks!

  • May I ask. What is the purpose of this policy? And can you move everything on my current ea account to my new one? Thank you

    Hi @GrizllyAdams

To confirm this is applied to all EA accounts and cannot be changed on request.

In addition, you wouldn't be able to move any progress from the first PSN account to another PSN account which is why I recommended working with Sony on recovering access to your original one.

This is simply a request our support cannot do.

Even if you could link 2 PSN accounts Games, Progress, Items from one PSN account would not be shared to another one so ultimately it won't help in preserving your games and progress to get another account linked.

    Cheers!

  • I was okay losing the old psn. This ea has my father in laws games on them and he has passed. Therefor I can't leave it behind. I just won't get to link my psn to my ea and miss out. Silly really but I'm sure you corporation's have your reasons.. thank you

  • Does it also matter if the account that I wanted to link was the same account that was linked before?
