Re: Oculus Quest 2 VR Mode-Right Yaw and Down Pitch Broken on Mouse with Update 2.0

The only way around is to use an Xbox controller hooked up to your PC while using your VR.
- honestly, EA might as well make this game console only. #Shake my head#

A year since the last comment about this and 18 months or so since the original issue. I've just got Squadrons and playing VR - exactly the same mouse issue. I know the cause in this case though: I changed the VR resolution scaling to 150%. The mouse then became locked into the top left corner as described in the first post here and by others, so the ship just hurtles off the left, and mouse can't be moved even to the centre point. So, clearly - the mouse is somehow not being scaled when the underlying resolution is. I changed the resolution back and the problem went away.

Such an easy fix, but I get the sense (given how often the game won't even launch, and not at all directly in VR - only via the toggle option in-game) that no-one's working on this? EA, any chance of fixing this so I can use all the VR settings?

@Dannuk They don't reply to legitimate bug reports on the forum, they don't ask for a team to come in and fix things, and they don't care.

Here's an old list of unanswered problems with Squadrons that nobody has replied to (or replied too late to, and still didn't do anything):
    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-STAR-WARS-Games/Partial-List-of-Unanswered-STAR-WARS-Squadrons-Bug-Report/m-p/11374017#M65721

I also reposted a bunch of these problems as new threads since the CMs are closing threads to keep them from being necro'ed and requesting that we start new ones. I did this on Saturday. I understand it's only now Monday. From their reputation, I highly doubt anyone will reply or even attempt to get any of those problems fixed.

They abandoned this game, and they need to know how wrong that was.

@EA_Atic So, we know there are no more planned "updates." At this point, I don't *need* any new content. We're just asking for server-side support and bug fixes, mostly. Is that really an "update," or is it just good housekeeping for consumers who are still buying this game that routinely goes on sale and is still actively advertised on official EA social media accounts?

@EA_AticThat's a shame, because right now an extremely large portion of those I've talked to who bought the game on sale on Steam over the last week are experiencing launch issues on top of these pre-existing bugs. Should really look into why nobody wants to assign a small team to fix this. Had somebody fix "pinballing" (one of the bugs that a vocal portion of the community has complained about pretty much since launch) yesterday because they just casually opened the client code up in Frosty and literally just adjusted the "AfterburnerDriftBoostAccelerationForce" values for all of the starfighters:

    X-Wing - 10,000
    Y-Wing - 8,000
    A-Wing - 13,000
    U-Wing - 8,000
B-Wing - 2,000 (this is why the community can't pinball easily in the B-Wing. It's the lowest).
    TIE Fighter - 10,000
    TIE Bomber - 8,000
    TIE Interceptor - 13,000
    TIE Reaper - 8,000
    TIE Defender - 13,000

Leaving that on the side for a moment, it was one guy, who isn't trained on Frosty, who just found poked around until he found one value. I'm just pointing out that EA should reconsider this stance.

I can count at least three active games with huge problems because of slow support or complete lack-thereof:

    STAR WARS: Squadrons
    STAR WARS: Battlefront II
    Battlefield: 2042

In each and every instance, those games have suffered immensely because of similar problems. It doesn't make the company look great. I don't really see any incentive for customers to keep trusting EA.

@EA_Atic @PowerPaladin541 "Sadly that includes any fixes at the moment." What?? Really?? This is baffling. I just bought this game, paid full price for it, and there are fundamentally broken parts of it (e.g. mouse stuck in top left if you change the in-game resolution setting, won't launch properly). EA is not a small company - it is not acceptable to be selling a full price product EA refuses to fix at all. If this is actually true, @EA_Atic can you point me to where I can get a refund? (p.s. it also keeps crashing.)

@EA_Atic See? Dannuk's frustration with a very legitimate concern and their opinion is the archetypical, foundational, detrimental, and long-lasting type of company image EA is creating for itself. This person didn't even get it from the sale. Speaking frankly, I know you agree with us, and I know you can't say to us that you do because you may get fired. The decision makers need to get called out on this and it needs to get fixed before EA has another round of bad press on its hands.
