Skill Tree Question?

Skill Tree question?

I would like to start off with I love this game. Please do not screw it up like Battle Front with micro-transactions!!!!

My question is will it be possible to, or will it be available in a patch to unlock the next set of  or parts of the skill tree? Or has that even been developed yet?

Here again, I think all in all it is a good refreshing Star Wars game. It has the feel of "Lessons Learned" from the other Star Wars games.

On a side note, I love that it not a MMO, per say. I love playing console games that are local to the machine and not forced to have to play online. I know that it will probably be possible future option.

    Thanks for your reply

I was hoping for some kind of final “gift” as now I’ve maxed out the skills, and still have 2 points available. Maybe more later ....

Well, here is my opening strategy that saves me headaches and makes the whole game more fun and playable for me, pardon the spoilers:

    Spoiler
First two skills after overhead slash you need to get are "Survival Skills" and "Superior Blocking." Then take "Dash Strike" and "Sprint Strike." After you finish up on Bogano, go to Dathomir, and flip into "Story Mode" difficulty, and grab your double bladed lightsaber, and you can very quickly fill up the Skill Tree by grinding from that respawn point back to where you find the life essence, brings you around to a nice clean loop. In the easiest difficulty, it's a very fast grind. This is also a great way to practice game mechanics like blocking, dodging and parrying, because Nightbrothers are the ultimate training partners. I would grind until you've filled the skill tree plus 6 unspent skill points, and then raise up the difficulty back to Grand Master or whatever you had it on and go to Zeffo. From there, no more grinding, and you should have ample skills to adventure through and reach get the next huge skills when you need them which include "Mass Push," "Grasping Pull," "The Power of Friendship," and then "Lightsaber Mastery."  The skills I leave until the very end are "Burst Slow," "Howling Pull," "Switch Attack," "Whirlwind Slash" as these aren't real game changers.

What are some early skills that you think would help me or anyone else starting the game have an easier time in the beginning? I noticed that on Bagano (as an example), some fierce enemies can take huge chunks of your health early on, almost to the point that you can't be hit or you'll die.

I think Survival Skills is a necessary one as well as Improved Stims, and Force Attunement (since slowing enemies helps a bunch).

I think a lot has to do with your play style and play preferences. That said, it wasn't till I was 2/3rds of the way through the game before I understood the importance of stint/force management and adjusted my tree build accordingly. Some tips from my perspective (and play style):

    • Don't be fooled by the linear play. While this game is largely on rails, you can explore and should (sooner rather than later). I did not do enough of this early on and missed upgrades and character improvements (i.e. additional stints) which would have helped in the more difficult fights.
    • It is ok to fail in order to learn what will work against a difficult enemy. One of my complaints with this game is that the "boss" fights differ drastically to the gameplay of regular encounters (Stormtroopers, spiders, etc.). They are much more difficult and techniques learned in regular gameplay don't seem to apply as easily to "boss" fights. Toward the end, I took a few deaths to just try and figure out how the enemy behaved in relation to my abilities.
    • Get good at dodge, block and parry. Practice the timing of this with easy troopers and creatures.
    • In terms of skill tree, balance (cheesy I know) is key. While survival and force are important to stay alive during a difficult encounter, so is a solid skill-set in lightsaber. Some of the lightsaber skills further up the tree really help with the challenging fights. Early on I felt that health and health management and crowd control helped me quite a bit.
    • Top skills that helped the  most:
      • Agile deflection
      • Grasping pull-Get this ASAP after Zeffo and use it! It is amazing.
      • Mass and Howling push- again crowd managment.
      • Power of friendship (late game)- I should have caught on to this sooner.
      • Lightsaber throw

I had a lot of fun playing this game, even with the jump in difficulty levels for encounters. I hope you get back into it and enjoy.

    Good luck!
