[Solved] FPS drop on a mid to high end gaming PC. (Star Wars: Battlefront)
If you are getting a consistent 60 FPS when you are running around, and then encounter high activity, a drop to 45-50 FPS sounds very normal.
Even though this is normal, I think there could be an issue caused by the Overlay program you are using to see your frames. I would start by disabling this. Follow the steps below, and this is a way to see your frames in-game, thru the game console, so no overlay is needed:
1. While in-game press the ` key (it is the key to the left of 1 and right above Tab
2. Type in PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1
3. Press "Enter"
4. Press the ` key again to close the console
You will now see your frame rate displayed in the top-right corner of the screen. If your frame rate is alot more stable now, let me know. I can give you the steps so that this command will load each time you start the game, so you don't have to do the steps every time you play.
