Can you try reducing the sample rate from 48Khz to 44.1Khz. This has been reported as helping here:

Additionally, if you have the option to increase your audio driver latency that could help.
thanks for replying 🙂
i already did that. the problem didnt occur when i ran battlefront the next time, but then occured after a few maps. again at the point where you go from the join screen to the screenwipe and map flyby screen, and to confirm this has now happened on all bitrate settings i have from 41.4k right up to 192k, on both 16 bit and 24 bit. it also happened as i say the first time i ran battlefront right from the game start, and the second time it began when i did the xwing training mission, all the way through - that was what made me google and find the 41.4k 16 bit setting suggestion. i dont see an audio latency setting at all.
To clarify also, the sound isnt stuttering, its distorted as if you are getting a very badly static affected radio message, from a long way away. all the sounds are there, just sound is full of static. at first i though it was supposed to be a sound effect like in the movie - where rebel command and 3po are listening to the xwing battle to destroy the first death star; (where the fighters are passing through the deflector shield), but then i noticed it wasnt just the AI pilots commands and other audio which was distorted, but the weapon and explosion sounds also. hope this helps somehow narrow down some more what the issue is.
i am thinking maybe the audio bitrate setting can help remove one problem some people have, but there is another problem which is harder to identify, except when it occurs in game, during the change from the screen (after you finish one map) where you can choose to join the next battle, or configure your cards and character. you select join, and once the timer counts down, the problem will at some point occur during the change to when it shows the map screen and then as it does the screen wipe to show the flyby, thats when i hear the sound distortion start. there is usually a sort of freeze in the wipe effect and the audio, then distortion will start if its going to. sometimes if there is another momentary freeze the audio will fix itself.
