Star Wars Battlefront won't launch because of incompatible Nvidia driver

The following popup appears whenever I try to launch Star Wars Battlefront via Origin app: Detected NVIDIA Geforce driver version 353.62. The required driver version is 358.50 or later. Please update your drivers at [link removed] before playing the game.

However, the Geforce Experience app claims that my driver is already up to date. Is it safe to manually download and install 358.50 anyway?

My system specs:

Acer Predator G3620

Intel Core i7 processor 3770

Geforce GT 630 2GB

16 GB RAM

It just doesn't make much difference what driver a very low end GPU such as yours is using; the game cannot run correctly on that level of sub-minimum hardware.  Look at the link.

    http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-660-vs-GeForce-GT-630

    Star Wars Battlefront

    Minimum PC System Requirements

OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later (Win 7 should have SP 1)
Processor (Intel): Intel i3 6300T or equivalent (3.3 GHz)
        Memory: 8GB RAM
Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space
Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB
Graphics card (ATI): ATI Radeon HD 7850 2GB
DirectX: 11.0 Compatible video card or equivalent
Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection

  • The above is correct. Buy a compatible GPU.

You can try to install 359.06 driver: if driver is not allowed by driver installer, it won't even install.

Why don't you download the nvidia driver and test by yourself? You have nothing to loose!

Because my computer's warranty has long expired and I don't want to update the driver beyond what the GeForce app states as already being up to date, lest I risk frying up the graphics card. Alot on the forums complained that the update caused black screens or unable to play any other games on their computers, resulting in rollbacks or replacing the graphics card entirely. That's why I'm asking first just to be safe, so I do have something to lose.

If you already have the answer, why are you asking us? Why don't you search nvidia drivers by yourself? You will see, by yourself, if it is or if it is not compatible.

EDIT: Besides, I had never heard about a self-destructive driver provided by own manufacturers.
