I got the PS5 upgrade for free the following way:
I put the PS4/PS5 version of the game in my cart on the PlayStation store on my PS5. When I saw it was the regular price I wanted to empty my cart but didn’t know how. So tried to empty the cart in the app on my iPhone and saw there that the game was free. So I downloaded the game via de iPhone app to my PS5 and now I have the PS5 version for free.

Thanks. But I think it's been resolved via the standard method. I went to the PS4 version in my library and then clicked on the PS5 version and it said Free PS5 Upgrade and I hit download.
Previously, it had the full price showing and there was no option to upgrade. Thanks for your post though.
