This work around doesn't work for me. Does it have to be plugged into the xbox?
- 5 years ago@ohnojono I don't seem to get the work around to work for me.
I have the controller plugged into one of the USB's in the back of the xbox one x and my hotas in the front USB. The controller still turns off in the middle of a battle - any hints as to what I am doing wrong??- 5 years ago@PultzH Afraid not sorry! Only that I had my HOTAS plugged in to the back and my Xbox controller in the front and that worked for me. Other people have suggested you need to take the batteries out of the controller but my controller is an elite so it doesn’t have removable batteries so I dunno ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I find that plugging in my Elite controller with supplied cable turns it to a wired controller. It does not switch off like others have said. The only time it does switch off is when i use my Elite controller wirelessly.
The Hotas functions as long as the controller is on but as soon as it turns off or you unplug it the Hotas is non functional.
A comment that EA / DEvs are on this would be a good idea.

Okay so i tested some o this that was posted, the only work arround that worked for me was the Xbox controller pluged in the back usb port of the xbox, but its not any cable, it must be a cable that you can do a firmware update to the controller, a cable that thansfer data, i have so many cables here and the cheap ones don't work, used an old samsung phone cable. Will see more options or post when this problem is fixed

So I tweeted at a couple of EA accounts and Ian Frazier (Creative Director on Squadrons) and Ian replied confirming they’re investigating the issue 😃
