Wonder how different it will be from XvT or XWA? Had a bit of a disadvantage there too, but if you paid attention to your HUD and getting a fairly good sense of what is around you then it's not as limiting. Granted nothing beats the wide open views you get in an X-Wing, or A-Wing. In TIE Fighter I pretty much always had my eyes on my HUD, you pretty much had to.
Y-Wings had a fairly limited view as well, not nearly as bad as TIE's though.
