who designed the flight controls?? roll on wrong controls PC

pitch and roll are litterally always on the mouse .... i dont think i have ever played a game it wasnt combined. IT'S LITTERALLY HOW A PILOT IS FLYING THEIR PLANE! who thought it would be a good idea to allow yaw with pitch and not allow it to be reassigned? game is unplayable till this is fixed. i am currently glad i did not purchase the game and it is just available to me through EA PRO.

Please please please fix this issue because it is really a broken mechanic and the game looks amazing from the first 5 minutes i attempted to play.

  • Yeah, I posted about the exact same thing.

Having Roll/Pitch for mouse is a must.

Like, if you're flying a plane, the roll and pitch are on the same control stick, while yaw is on the pedals.

If you moved the flight stick to the left, an aircraft will roll left, while in Squadrons it Yaws.    Just feels totally backwards.

Pitch & Yaw on mouse is best. Dogfighting requires a lot of yaw, more than pitch, and finer yaw control than you can get with a digital input (ie. Keys)
    Play WarThunder and youll understand.

  • I'm not playing with a mouse/keyboard, but I agree that the controls are backwards!

  • On controller for Xbox, and yeah, controls are backwards and worse.  They have throttle on the Left Stick default, and Right if you change scheme.  That would be like putting throttle on the mouse Left-Right or something.  Imagine how difficult it would be to fly like that!

I had to shift control scheme all over the place to try and fix, and ended up without boost bound anywhere due to lack of combo-button mapping capability =/

  • Haven't tried playing the game with mouse and keyboard, but with a controller - assigning pitch/roll to the same stick literally reduces the speed of the maneuver by about 50% for some unknown reason. When they're on different sticks the speed of the pitch and roll maneuver is normal, but the game punishes you for wanting pitch and roll on the same stick.

This bug forces you to use the default first person shooter (right analogue stick looks around) type of setup where pitch/yaw are together on one stick and throttle/roll are together on the other, otherwise the controls become unresponsive. Evidence: https://youtu.be/knknwBKd7Lk
