Why does my EA game Star Wars Squadrons keep asking to verify me?

I bought SW Squadrons via Steam back in 2020 and every time I try to play it recently it always tries to ask me to verify who I am....why, my Steam account and EA accounts are linked, yet it does not recognise who I am automatically and EA doesn't seem to know I own the game via Steam?

This is probably what is causing the other issue I am having with this game getting stuck at the verification screen.

  • @PvtWaffle same here. July 2024.. every attempt to launch the game I get the verify with code screen, even tho every time I selected 'Remember this device'.

It doesn't help the code screen renders badly on my 34 inch ultrawide monitor and the mouse pointer position doesn't corrolate properly with the buttons or the code enter field, so I have to move the mouse all over the screen until it thinks I'm over the right area and highlights the button or field.. even tho my mouse pointer is like 300 pixels off to the right....

    EA... you are terrible.
  • I just started getting this, too. WTF? Would be great if I could move and select an option with the controller. Or maybe it should just remember me as I keep telling it to.

September 2024. This is still borked.  YOu can't trust your device and set it to never ask.You can't play Star Wars in VR and interact with the menu. 2fa essentially breaks the game.

These monkeys failed to test their mfa implementation. If deployed MFA in this manner across the organization I work at I would be fired on the spot.

  • Same issue here.

Btw, i have find a "solution". Launch the game in windowed mode, so you will be able to select where to send the validation code, and enter it.

    Goodbye fullscreen.

Without question. December 2024. Still a problem

They are a multibillion dollar international corporation and refuse to pay for this simple fix.

There is too much waste at the top.

Valueless paper pushers with undeserved compensation.

In a fair world competitors who actually care about their products would already have eaten EA alive.
