I've followed the steps outlined in this thread, put in a help request with ea, deleted my game data, but no avail. Keeps going back to this unknown email that I cannot change on the online screen. Someone hacked my account is what I'm guessing. I've found no fixes for this online except to sit and wait for ea support to respond to my complaint.
Same issue with me and Simmons tapped out. I have used an old freeserve email address to access this game from the start, I didn’t bother changing the email address on the game as it continued to work. Beginning to lose the will to live now dealing with EA customer services as rather than resetting the password/email address on this account they reset it on my usual EA/origin account instead, which I don’t use for simpsons tapped out. No idea how I could have made it clearer to them which account I needed resetting.
