Well, the solution was to just connect my Xbox one controller with a cable to my pc. Then the problems went away. Keep in mind, I have the Bluetooth compatible controller. So use a cable and it should work fine.

Sometimes the solution is easy. Thanks for letting us know!

It should be recognized that this ISN'T a solution, just a work around. I don't have a long enough cable to play with my controller at my PC, so it's completely game breaking. I can't get more than 5 minutes in a game before it drops to 4 fps.

Hello there,
A player experienced the same issue and resolved it by changing the batteries in his controller. Might be worth checking out:

Is there an actual solution to this problem? I have the same issue. Even on the menu connecting my controller drops framerate to single digits. Turning the controller off immediately returns frames to the 120hz limiter. Having to plug in a wireless controller is not a solution.

I am having the same issue. I am using an Xbox One S controller via bluetooth. Randomly, it drops to 4 fps. Disconnecting the controller jumps the fps up to normal for me. Reconnecting the controller does not immediately cause performance issues, but it never happens without the controller connected. This makes no sense to me. I am fairly savvy, and I cannot see why there would be any sort of connection between using a controller wirelessly vs wired that would affect the frame rate. ESPECIALLY when this game was allegedly intended for controller. You would expect that there would have been extensive bug testing done here.

This defeats the purpose of having a blutooth controller, though, doesn't it? A cable is a work around, not a fix. Is there a fix? I'd like to sit further than my cable lengths from my screen.
