Xbox one controller on PC causes lag and single digit FPS

Product: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Platform:PC
Summarize your bug Whenever I connect my XBOX One controller, the game drops frame rates hard. It hovers around the single digits and spikes up to around the 40-60s for a moment then right back down. If I use my mouse and keyboard, I stay in the 80-120s.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Connect a xbox one controller, and see if your framerates drop and if the game begins to lag.
What happens when the bug occurs? Frames drop down to the single digits, extreme input lag, and just not playable.
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to connect my controller perfectly fine and enjoy the game.

Please help ASAP.

I am having the same issue. I am using an Xbox One S controller via bluetooth. Randomly, it drops to 4 fps. Disconnecting the controller jumps the fps up to normal for me. Reconnecting the controller does not immediately cause performance issues, but it never happens without the controller connected. This makes no sense to me. I am fairly savvy, and I cannot see why there would be any sort of connection between using a controller wirelessly vs wired that would affect the frame rate. ESPECIALLY when this game was allegedly intended for controller. You would expect that there would have been extensive bug testing done here.

  • Is there an actual solution to this problem? I have the same issue. Even on the menu connecting my controller drops framerate to single digits. Turning the controller off immediately returns frames to the 120hz limiter. Having to plug in a wireless controller is not a solution.

It should be recognized that this ISN'T a solution, just a work around. I don't have a long enough cable to play with my controller at my PC, so it's completely game breaking. I can't get more than 5 minutes in a game before it drops to 4 fps.

  • Well, the solution was to just connect my Xbox one controller with a cable to my pc. Then the problems went away. Keep in mind, I have the Bluetooth compatible controller. So use a cable and it should work fine.
