Bug merrins portal

I died jumping through merrins portal (not dashing like I should have) and it restarted me on the other side of the stone door where you can see the portal. However, it will not let me walk through the door to dash in the portal. I've tried restarting but it just takes me back to the save point.  I've gone back and killed the troopers but it still will not let me though the door. I don't think that it was supposed to restart me behind the door. I really don't want to start over, any help will be much appreciated!
