error DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED with Reason: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG solved.

This error occurs when the game is checking the PC's performance. The process freezes and then crashes the game with this error message.

If you encounter this error in UE Error Message, check your GPU OC profile and reset it to the base clock of your GPU.
It solved the problem for me, so I thought I post it here since it took me an eternity to find out.

Have fun playing!

EA Support Team still not give any response here?

  • The game is still crashing at Jedha. The entire Jedha is literally unplayable and can't progress in the game. When will they fix this?

  • No this is a problem with game. Specifically when Ray Tracing is enabled . It happens on Jedha and no where else. It is 100% reproducable. Patch 5 made the game more enjoyable for me but until they make a Ray Tracing patch to fix this the only option is turn off Ray Tracing on Jedha. But i don’t feel that should be acceptable.

I've tried everything trying to solve this issue. The only thing that solved it for me was turning off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling. This removes some features like frame generation, but I've had no crashes.

  • I am having this same issue. My system seems to meet the game requirements. In this instance it first crashed when interacting with the holotable on the ship on the way to janalorr to face bode for the first time. After that it it continually crashed when trying to continue the game and again just after the main menu loads before even selecting continue. Please see my Dxdiag and assist asap. This is not acceptable, the game costs 100 USD.

  • it appears i resolved my issue. To do so i did the following (not sure which actually fixed the issue).

    1. Removed MTPBWY configuration Mod that helped me with crashes in the beginning
    2. I in windows I set the graphics card from auto to my NVIDIA card on the exe.
    3. In NVIDIA Control panel I set NVIDIA to the graphics card for the game
    4. I set NVIDIA to be the active PhysX configurator

This appears to have boosted my game performance and video quality.

Additionally I did disable EA app and NVIDIA overlays however it was still crashing after doing so.
