Force slam/lift ability does not work

I just got to the generator underbelly where you unlock the force slam/lift ability but no mater what I do it does not work, I'm on ps5 so the button I need to press is R1+X but that does nothing and makes me jump. I'm completely soft-locked. I've tried: Switching controllers, Restarting console, Dying, Getting a different angle, Deleting and reinstalling the game, And Closing and reopening the game. On all EA forums others have had this problem as well with ZERO response from EA. Does anyone know of a fix I haven't tried? I love this game and want to continue but I'm pissed at EA for leaving this huge bug in the game.
