Unable To Progress Game - Generator Underbelly Force Powers

Hi Gang. I've seen other posts about this but somehow this issue still remains in the game 3 years later with no workaround. I have fallen into the pit where you learn the force slam ability and are supposed to slam the two turrets. The prompt for the buttons to use Force Slam are there but if I try them, nothing happens. Yes I've held them down per instructions. Yes I've tried holding R1 then the force action button. Yes I've tried to re-map the buttons. Yes I've cleared by PS5 system cache. Yes I've changed the difficulty to Story and then died a bunch but the issue still persists.  I can't go to a meditation point because it forced me down into an area I can't get out of, when the turrets kill me I just respawn in the pit with them again. There's no way to progress the game without starting completely over or loading an old save. 18 hours of progress down the drain. So frustrated, I was really enjoying it.
