Jedi Surviror ran for 5 hours, now won't launch

Like many others affected, I can't launch the game any more. It just flashes and stops. I tried the repairs and various fixes to no avail. I was asked to provide some information by @EA_Leeuw in anot...

    I was pleasantly surprised the other day when I saw it launch for the first time in weeks. Seems like it's working.

Well, that didn't last long. Ran the last update and now it won't launch again.

Same boat.  I tried all the techniques listed and still no game.  I use Steam to launch it and the button goes blue to green in less than 5 seconds.  Nothing come ups and then the button goes back to green.
