Jedi Survivor: Steam-PC - Force Pull on objects using keyboard and mouse broken

Product: STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor
Platform:Steam-PC
Summarize your bug Force Pull on objects out of combat (orbs in Koboh "Chamber of Duality", ropes, power cable discs) does not work properly on Steam-PC using keyboard and mouse. All that happens is a "nothing to pull" animation. I was able to grab orbs in the Chamber of Duality, but only by single jumping and Pulling when I'm in the air. That trick did not work on the power disc on the right side of the chamber, however. I tried using a controller, and using that, Force Pull works as expected.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try using Force Pull on objects out of combat (orbs in Koboh "chamber", ropes, power cable discs) on Steam-PC using keyboard and mouse.
What happens when the bug occurs? All that happens is a "nothing to pull" animation.
What do you expect to see? Force Pull should work on pullable objects the same using KB/Mouse as when used with controller.

  • @mshireman I'm also seeing this issue. Force-interactable objects are still highlighted, but , I'm unable to use Force Pull on them. Particularly annoying in the first Chamber to pull the item to open the gate (if I jumped on it, it would move, but couldn't Force Pull it). I found that if I exited out of the game, and loaded back in I then could interact with an object.

This does not work, however, when there are 2 interact-required objects in a row. 2 ropes on the shattered moon, where you have to jump one to the other. Can't interact with either. Quit and load game, I can leap/pull to the first one but I can't make it to the second since I loose the ability to interact after the first. After reloading from the fall, I can no longer interact witht he first rope.

This has completely halted my progress and I can't push on any farther since I can't make it past the obstacles.
  • @mshireman and @Xyridin  Did either of you change the key/button bound to Force Pull, and if so, does it help to change it back?  Please test to find out even if you don't want to play that way going forward.

As a side note, you can't force pull data discs stuck on walls.  That's part of the puzzle.

    Spoiler
You need to burn away the Koboh matter, and the discs will fall.

@puzzlezaddict also, as I mentioned above, the keybind works, but the actual Force Pull behavior is different. I can FP in combat and I can use the jump-then-foce-pull trick for most things like ropes and orbs, but some things, like the cables to open gates, refuse to be pulled except via controller.

I'm still using the original keybinds for force powers. Its mostly ropes that I encounter the problem. When attempting to get up to the bandit watchtower, I tried for like 20mins thinking my angle was off, or my timing wasn't right. Then I remembered The Bug, exited out, reloaded and first time I pulled the rope and made it over. It's usually not a huge issue, since I can reload to make it past... but where I am now there are two ropes in a row; I can make the first, but not the second. Once I reload from the fall, I can no longer make the first unless I reload.

  • @Xyridin Interesting. Sounds like your bug is slightly different than mine. As long as I'm in a first-stage jump when I Force Pull, I don't have issues with swinging-ropes, even in sequence. It's just when I stand on the ground and try to pull them.

I was also seeing that issue: Especially in that first temple, I couldn't grab the cable to drag it over to the socket to open one of the gates.

I'm still using the default keybinds. The biggest issue for me is on the moon, there's a pair of ropes in a row. I can always grab the first one after having just loaded in, but it fails to grab the second on. Then, after falling and respawning, I can no longer grab the first rope, this is consistent and happens 100% of the time, repeatable every time.

If I reload the game, I can again make that first rope grab only, and can't go any further. I'm 14 hours in after a year and can't progress any further. Just sitting here wonder now if I can make it back to the ship and go to a different destination so I can at least play some more of the game.
