koboh Devastated Settlement can't get BD-1 Koboh Grinder

Summarize your bug I'm doing the rescue of Zee and just made it into the side room where you are meant to get the update for BD-1 which allows you spray Koboh. However, I'm stuck as the chest where you are meant to get the grinder does not allow for any interaction And means you are stuck in the room with no way to get out other than to reload. When I go back and try again I kill the two creatures but this time the door to the side room is now open and the chest shows as grey in the holomap, but the same thing happens. I've tried moving the orb to the other holder and leaving it in the laser but still have the same issue. I've even tried repairing the game files and even a fresh install on a clean laptop, and still have the same issue, which breaks the game.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I've not done anything differently apart from doing a lot of exploring and side quests, before going back to the main mission.
What happens when the bug occurs? You get stuck in the room and can't get out of progress.
What do you expect to see? I expected to get upgrade for BD-1

As I've said this breaks the game for me, I've only played 20 hours but don't want to have to restart a new game if I can help it.
