Lightsaber Aesthetics in Jedi: Survivor - A Suggestion
Hello Jedi: Survivor community and Respawn Entertainment team!
First, I want to express how incredible it has been to play Jedi: Survivor. The story, gameplay, and atmosphere make us feel like real Jedi, and Respawn's dedication to recreating this universe is something many of us truly appreciate.
However, I'd like to share a suggestion that I believe could improve the experience for all players and further enhance the immersion in the game.
Currently, when using certain lightsaber stances, such as the single saber or saber with blaster, the lightsaber in gameplay appears differently than it does in the cutscenes, often looking longer or with an additional emitter. While these stances don't require that kind of design, the difference between how the saber looks in the cutscenes and how it's worn in gameplay can be somewhat jarring for some of us.
In the cutscenes and key moments, Cal's lightsaber is shown as cleaner and more compact, with its hook and pommel visible, giving it an elegant and authentic look. However, when entering the lightsaber stances, this aesthetic is lost due to unnecessary extensions and visual modifications to the saber.
My suggestion is for the lightsaber to remain visually consistent, as it does in the cutscenes, throughout the entire gameplay. This would include:
1. A clean, compact saber in all stances. Whether using the single saber or saber with blaster, the design should reflect the classic saber we see in key moments of the game.
2. The hook and pommel always visible on the belt, without being covered by extensions of the saber that aren't part of that stance.
As fans, many of us seek a visually consistent and satisfying experience, and we believe this improvement would enhance the immersion for all players, allowing us to enjoy our lightsaber design as we saw it at the beginning of the game.
I thank Respawn for the exceptional work done so far and for giving us the opportunity to share our opinions. I hope this suggestion will be considered for future updates, and I look forward to seeing other players join this proposal.
Best regards to the entire Jedi: Survivor community and Respawn Entertainment. May the Force be with you!
