@SalusDrake do you mean that the vents should active and emitting while using other stance as well? If so, then its not practical, but if its stays inactive (not emitting the crossguard) then its ok.
But the way i see it, it should be optional, and its not the only problem with stances, as its names are also underwhelming, stances/forms should be named after the original 7 forms of lightsaber arts. Since Cal was a padawan from the old republic, and most likely has spent sometime training under Cere's tutelage who's also a jedi knight/master from the old republic, then he should be knowledgeable in using the original forms. Instead we get underwhelming names like single/dual/double/crossguard/blaster.
It should've been :
-Shii cho
-Makashi
-Soresu
-Ataru
-Shien/Djem So
-Niman
-Vapaad
