Missing clothing items from chests that remain open

Summarize your bug I had the bomber jacket and the materials, now the materials have suddenly gone and both chests remain open. The map tells me there is still a chest to open when there isn’t. I’m sure this happens in other parts of the map too.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I think it’s a save issue, the game knows I had the item so it leaves the chest open but doesn’t acknowledge that I should still have it
What happens when the bug occurs? I don’t have the item I previously found
What do you expect to see? no lost items and the map doesn’t lie to you
