I noticed on my digital edition (Xbox) that it said no download was necessary for the pre-order items.
I'm not sure then how it works, but if your copy doesn't have the pre-orders then it's well worth taking it up with Amazon... 🤔

Hey @wwrighty89,
Indeed, as @SofaJockeyUK mentions; this is something you have to ask Amazon Support, I am afraid, as they are the retailer of the game where you've bought the game. I contacted Amazon about the pre-order code but they told me that they don't handle that will there be a way to get the pre-order bonus after launch then

Hey @alertlizard,
We do not handle pre-order bonuses if you buy the game at 3rd party retailers, like Amazon etc. The retailer itself is responsible for that.
Pre-order bonuses are no longer available when the game has launched, as this is no pre-order anymore at that time. The only time pre-order bonuses are available after launch is if you claim the game via EA Play Pro, which is for PC EA app only. I had this same problem, I was told that "no code was needed" by Amazon customer support, yet here I am, without the bonus I pre-ordered for
Surely if we just sent a copy of the receipt to EA, they could send us a fresh code?

@Blueduster54, no. This is something the retailer needs to take care of, I am afraid.
I appreciate that, however Amazon is telling me that this is something that EA needs to sort
Does this mean we get nothing if we pre ordered the physical edition?
Same here, asked Amazon support and they have no clue, transferred a few times then asked me to contact EA.
So I got my code from AMD Promotions for buying new hardware. I entered it before release and it showed up in my library, so I thought it's counted as "Pre ordered".
But I don't have the pre order bonus, or is that code entered before release not considered as "pre order"?
Are the pre order bonus items available from the start or from later on?
I purchased the deluxe additional through the EA App for PC prior to the game coming out, but I do not see either the pre-order or Deluxe items in my inventory.
Is there anything I am missing? It shows in the "Add-ons" tab that they are there, but nothing is in-game.
Thanks
So as the title says, I pre ordered the game, and even downloaded it early on pc, so how is it possible that I don't have the pre order bonuses when the game itself was an early digital download?
I have this exact same issue... getting bounced around with different customer reps on Amazon before finally coming here looking for answers with EA because that's who I'm being directed to by the reps..
I've seen some people on Reddit claiming that a code was eventually e-mailed to them by Amazon and to check junk/spam folders, but I've yet to receive anything myself

Hey @reactorfox,
It is unfortunately indeed not something we control, I'm afraid.
Same problem EA. You sold us an unfinished broken game then didn't communicate with retailers properly and we didn't get our code. Fix this mess NOW. I want a code and perhaps a working game to use it on.
@EA_Leeuw I don't quite understand why it isn't, perhaps you could possibly share some insights or maybe get someone who can in to explain further?
There seems to have been some form of breakdown between EA and Amazon, a major retailer that would have been provided a large amount of stock
Surely there should be a system that can be set up, if one isn't already in place, in such an event whereby a customer could prove that they had placed a pre-order before the release date and a new code could be generated for them??

Hey @reactorfox,
Please see this (on the 1st page of this thread): https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Why-don-t-I-have-my-Pre-Order-Bonuses/m-p/12513258#M801.
Thanks.
the weapons customization are not available until you unlock your ship. This opens up the work benches but the clothing cosmetics should be available right off the bat in the customization screen in settings
If I did not receive my pre-order bonus from Best Buy, will I still be able to get that even though it’s after the 28th?
doesn't seem like it. seems EA never planned to give us pre order bonus at all. just a lie to get pre order sales numbers for stock holders.
For reference EA, Best Buy support is directly telling everyone to come to you.
They are not only telling people to come to you, but their customer care team is telling us that EA the publisher specifically told them that the codes would be in the game packaging which it is not, and that EA has disabled the codes and that it is already integrated right into the game. So either EA is lying to or misinforming customers, EA is lying to or misinforming Best Buy, or Best Buy is lying to customers. Regardless, the entire situation is a mess and we just want to get the pre-order content. Thanks. 🙂
See their reply email:

Having exactly the same run-around with Amazon. I pre-ordered the deluxe PS5 edition back in December. I received a card in the box for the Galactic Hero/New Hero cosmetics - which, so far, has worked. However, I did not receive a card in the box nor an email with access to the Hermit cosmetic pack.
I contacted Amazon about the missing content... It's not the end of the world but if I've pre-ordered something, I want to receive everything I'm supposed to... otherwise what's the point?
The rep initially suggested that the Hermit DLC wasn't included because it wasn't referenced on the product page... I had to explain that it was visible at the time of placing the pre-order, but once the game went on general release, Amazon updated their page, which was why it was no longer visible... It felt like they were denying the Hermit content had ever been offered.
Eventually the rep told me that they couldn't confirm whether I'd been sent any pre-order code and offered me a 10% refund. I told them this was not acceptable; I told them I wanted the full content that I'd purchased/pre-ordered.
The rep went off to speak to their manager and came back saying that I should receive the code within 5-7 days of the game's release. So far I've not received anything and I'm doubtful that I will... but I've set a reminder set up to speak to Amazon again if it still doesn't show up!
Just to update and provide a resolution to my own issues, Amazon did eventually contact me and provide me with a code to redeem the pre-order bonuses.
Good luck to those still awaiting their own resolutions, hopefully your codes arrive soon.
I'd like to hope that this whole process has or will have been a large learning process for the team at EA for future releases....
