[SOLVED] Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION writing address

Hello, I have just started playing the game but I keep getting crashes

I attach dxdiag log and specs

Microsoft Windows 11 Home

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700K

Z790 AORUS PRO X

RAM 32.0 GB

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti

I already tried to:

  • optimize game with geforce experience
  • disable RT
  • disable DLSS
  • disable camera shake
  • disable camera sway

SOLVED: It seems the i7-14700 only supports speed memory Up to DDR5 5600 MT/s . The crash appeared setting the XMP profile at 7200 , with 5600 speed setting no crashed whatsoever

  • You need to disable on-board graphics in BIOS.

If that doesn't do it, work through the multiple issues shown in the Diagnostics section of the DXDIAG report.

Been there. Had to do the same at one point.

Nice job sleuthing that one out.

  • Really, really, really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tired of how broken this game is. I just replayed this segment where you reunite with Merrin, fight a robot and two jet-pack storm troopers, and then have to navigate a series of rather monotonous force pull puzzle mechanics inside of a circular spire only to have the game crash during a flashback 4 times in a row, waiting 5 minutes for shaders to compile at the beginning of each restart as well. This game is so incredibly broken, I take it I must disable RT here, this is the fix one year after release? So basically this is a long-standing bug that they've basically not fixed?

I will NEVER buy another EA game, purely on principle, after this ♥♥♥♥-show of a game, purely on principle, and I do mean that I will NEVER buy another EA game after this.

    RTX 4090
    551.86 clean installed
    Win11 Pro
    7800x 3D
    2x16GB DDR5 6400 MHz CAS 30

    Update:

Disabled RT, it's still happening, I think I'm about done with this garbage:

    "LoginId:64f74d24eafc9761aaf44acf9ed075fe

Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000070"

  • Im getting this error and game is crashing during a fight with multiple enemies.

Iv tried lowering the graphics to "potato" and also changing the XMP profile to another post that had the same issue and still crashing.

  • How could this be caused by XMP issues with RAM overclocking? I am getting the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION writing address and not sure how to fix. I do have XMP enabled at a speed by motherboard supports, and the system is verified stable. Crashing at the same point in one game is therefore a bug and not to be blamed on RAM overclock.

  • The 14700k supports much faster than 5600. Its only limited by the motherboard. Having to lower RAM speed is a bug in the game and not an issue with your hardware.
