Stances
I have Jedi Survivor on PS5, it's running fairly well but has frame dips around running water, resolution drops in Rambler's Reach, and a couple of crashes when traveling between planets, but that ha...
Hiya, could we get an update to have Jedi Survivor include all stances during gameplay?
The two-stance limit makes everything feel really stale pretty quickly no matter which two you have. I know some people are concerned about balance, which I don't think is an actual problem, but perhaps the development team could make the stance limit dependent on difficulty or put a slider where you can choose your amount of stances in the accessibility options. Possibly introduce more stance slots as perks so it's a trade-off with other advantages that you could forgo in exchange for them. But again I don't believe the limit balances the game in any way and if people like the limitation, they could just personally choose to limit themselves.
It would really help replayability too, it was a pretty deflating experience to be stuck with two stances for the first run, and it eats up a lot of your time going to save points if you want to use them all. It would definitely be a smoother experience replaying the game if you don't have to do that just to have fun with the combat.
I would love to hear any updates at all about improvements to the stance system or at least some kind of definitive statement from EA/Respawn about them so we can at least know to stop asking.
Ok see you tomorrow 👋
The could just make it so that (on console) the left button is for switching blade on and off, and right button is a weapon wheel, that slows time some while you are changing. And so the cinematic move comes when you let go of the buttan and you’ve made your choise.
cause i agree, it seems lazy from the developer standpoint. That you’re playing with this character who has a interchangable hilt, but not using it. You have the blaster on your leg at all times, but you can’t use it “cause you haven’t choose it”
And then there’s the “fun factor” to as you mention.
so at the very least the single blades option should just be a default and the 2 stances should be an addition to that. So no matter what to stances you choose, single bladed stances will still be an option
@Trimf6989even though i hate it, i don't think i'd say it's lazy, we know now with the state the game was released in, that it was definitely rushed though. and i can see how if they were rushed and with everything they were trying to fit into this game how they might just say, "eff it, two was good for the last game, we have to finish programming this rooftop garden." and the stances ended up just a classic case of over-promise, under-deliver, but I'm looking to forgive it, I wouldn't be here every day hoping for change if I wasn't.
In terms of control schemes there's a lot of ideas floating around, i think i just like the classic weapon wheel when you hold down a dpad direction, but a lot of people have been concerned about obstructing the screen or stopping combat so another option being discussed expanding the focus button, the one that gives you access to force lift/slam, to make the dpad buttons cycle the available stances, and setting it to that button when you release, that way it's all real-time, it's not that simple to do, and you can maintain the quick switching between two main stances.
I don't really wanna talk about 3 stances, because i think it's an unnecessary compromise. The debug menu allows cycling all 5 stances, so it's not that much of a technical limitation, but I imagine there's going to be bugs at first, but honestly I'd rather have 5 kinda buggy stances than only 2 perfect ones, mostly because of how the limitation affects all of the rest of the game outside of combat.
