Suggestions for The Final Chapter of Star Wars Jedi

Note to fellow gamers, this contains several spoilers

I have played Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor each quite a bit and am very comfortable with the gameplays and just love the two. Some things that I think could be used to build off of Jedi: Survivor and into the final chapter of the Star Wars Jedi trilogy are listed below and I hope this can be passed on to the makers of the game. Thanks for your time and (hopefully) consideration of these suggestions. To fellow gamers and forum-goers, please leave a "me too" or up this post's xp if you find something you can relate to.

Keep up the system of gathering allies to Koboh's saloon, loved it and hope to see a deeper dive into it with Tanalorr and gathering Jedi and other Force users, but ofc the story might not support that depending on what direction the story will be taken.

I'd love to see more animal taming, Jedi mind tricks, and stealth mechanics and maybe some more Jedi/Night Sister hybrid powers with Cal and Merrin (examples: you could give a story-accurate explanation for fast travel, make Cal able to drain small amounts of Force in order to turn invisible/invisible-ish, and/or make Cal able to grow/manipulate plants at will, considering he's learning new Force powers while also learning about plants and gardening with Pili and Kata). Just all fun mechanics. I was pretty disappointed when there weren't exotic plants to collect nor exotic animals to tame when I reached Tanalorr.

Lightsaber customizations are great, but a couple things are missing to make it perfectly fleshed out: separate blade colors for double and dual sabers (example: Ahsoka has a lime green lightsaber and a yellow lightsaber in CW). Another lightsaber customization is the type of crystal, 3 of which I can name atm, namely normal or what-have-you (produces normal saber), cracked (such as Kylo Ren's ragged saber), and darksaber (angular saber with black center and colored edge).

The new lightsaber fighting style could merge all 5 stances into a single stance, with Cal blending all the stances into a single fighting style with special attacks that utilize the pros-and-* of each lightsaber style for optimal speed (dual and maybe single), power (crossguard), or area (double and blaster).

As for the story, I personally would love to be able to play as a powerful Jedi who makes limited use of the dark side, but I'm still not sure how that fits Cal's personal story, unless the jump fixes only in the last game of the trilogy or it's a repetition of Cere's story and the 3rd Star Wars Jedi game is focused on a new character while Cal is the scarred mentor? That could call back to J:FO and give a full circle to things in a really nice way if done well.. but I'd say that's a risky move.

Loved Jedi: Fallen Order and even more so Jedi: Survivor, this is just my humble opinion as a gamer and amateur writer+game designer to take whatever comes after to the next level.

  • @Taiya_Dordala Any thoughts, friends? I might also add that I would like to see a permanent ally? A sidekick (or padawan...?) that follows Cal. Like.. Kata, maybe? Or maybe when Cal doesn't have another ally, he can call BD to assist and stun one enemy, similar to as he does to Vader in a J:FO scene.
  • @Taiya_Dordala Another thing (SPOILER): Change the "Super Meter" ability from a fixed "Slow/Dark Side Slow" to give many abilities to choose one from. You could have a frenzy-type ability similar to the dark side strength, a separate slow/freeze effect, and a force barrier like Cere's as starters, then you learn other abilities that can be used in the "Super Meter" ability slot along the way. Other suggestions for possible Slow replacements would be great.
Also, maybe Cal loses the Dark Side effect in the 3rd installment, maybe he doesn't, idk which direction is being taken exactly, but either way I think that the lightsaber skill upgrades at least for the single-blade stance should slowly work toward the Survivor Dark Side stance's style and power, which would definitely give a solid connection to Cere's arc as Cal follows it himself both in fighting style and personal quest for balance in the Force.
