Survivor Game Crashing on an NVIDIA Computer

For some reason, my game crashes while I am playing it. I finished the main story line and have just been trying to get the collectibles. I've tried installing mods to fix the problem, which fixes the game temporarily but doesn't fix it permanently. I am using an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 driver. It was installed on a SSD that I have on my computer, but when it was, it still was not working. Likewise, this last time where it worked fairly well, it was on a HDD. Note that I am playing on the easiest difficulty, which has the accomplishments locked (from what I have read online).

It is worth noting that sometimes the game takes forever to start up, as it keeps trying to "Optimize for Your PC" every time that I start up the game.

It is more random than anything, though usually it happens after I play for around half an hour.

Also, I played it yesterday after updating my graphics drivers, and it still crashed (though it was working somewhat better).

Also, I’ve found that using the windows button to change between icons on my computer does cause the game to run more poorly.

  • Just a shot in the dark, but it doesn't take long.    Have you tried starting a brand-new game and the returning to you previous game?

It would need to be completely brand new.

I did not try that. I’ll have to check it out. It confounds me, though, that I’d have to do that.

If I don’t respond and if there isn’t another solution, then it likely will have worked.

    Hello again.

It didn't work. I was playing the new game plus, and after I got to the jawas section after activating the first tower, my game crashed again. As such, I am still having the game crashing on me while I am playing.

    Thanks for trying.

  • I find that my game would still crash as well.  But it would stop crashing as often after I started a brand new game and then returned to my old one.  It worked well enough for me to finish the game.

You said your game was crashing every 30 minutes.  And now after a full week of gameplay, you have another crash.  So, it definitely worked.  It's just not a cure.  It doesn't actually change the programming which is causes certain files to be corrupted over time.  However, I believe starting a new game resets certain files which have been corrupted.

Or am I wrong and you actually crashed after half-an-hour -you just took a week to report it?
