User Agreement and Initial Settings Every Time

I'm playing on PC - Steam version.

Is the game supposed to prompt the User Agreement and Cookies Agreement every time you load the game? It also runs the initial settings and plays the Fallen order story clip every time.

If this is a bug, is there a fix?

  • The problem seemed to go away after reaching the first open world planet. Really strange.

@chili98765  How far into the game have you progressed?  Others in this thread have mentioned that the issue disappeared once they arrived on Koboh, the second planet.

just few hours on Koboh - problem is still there.

@chili98765  Try disabling your antivirus, temporarily of course, to see whether it helps.  You might see the user agreement page again, but hopefully the game will be able to write the data that says you've seen it, and it won't happen again.

I  dont have any antivirus except for win 10 standart defender.

However my issue has gone today - whats interesting is that it happened after a crash. I launched the game, but forgot I needed to do somth else, so I was hitting alt+f4 on the very first screen game shows and it crashed showing UE4 send error page 🙂  After this the issue has gone. Not sure if its just a coincidense or that crash really did something.Magic lol

Since patch 6 in July I haven't had this issue any longer. Hopefully this is fixed.

  • I'm having this same issue now. I've tried all of the above, I'm on the first open world planet, and I've even tried unchecking the "read only" attribute of my save game older, EA Desktop folder, and the main game folder. I can't figure it out.

**Edit: I did manage to stop this by trying another solution someone else had posted: during the setup screens, I used only my keyboard, and pressed the Enter key (instead of using the mouse). I'm not sure why that worked, but it did, after I'd tried everything else. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • What worked for me was killing the game in task manager after going through all the settings, my next boot only went through the optimisation process.
