Visual issue - red/white streaming lights

upon launching the game and to the second cutscene (that's how far through I could get without getting a headache from this bug) these lights have been a constant issue. I've fiddled with all of the visual settings and it appears to alter the bug randomly, sometimes turning the entire screen red or blue. I've seen that this is (was?) a common issue for players on ps5, but I'm on PC, and have found no way to fix it.
