It's better to use a Xbox Controller on PC. It works natively with Windows.
With the DS4 controller (ps4), you need a third-party driver package.
And it will not guarantee that your game works fine.

Hey @Farr0kh,
Our officially supported controllers are Xbox Series S|X and PS5 controllers, as mentioned in the FAQ.
That's not to say other controllers won't work, but they wouldn't be something we officially support or can troubleshoot if they're not fully working as you might expect.

I have no insider knowledge, so this is speculation, but I think it will probably work fine. If I recall correctly, I played Jedi Fallen Order with a DualShock 4 controller with no issues, so I expect it will be the same for Jedi Survivor.
I have used PlayStation controllers on PC for about five years now. Switched from DualShock 4 to DualSense last year. Most of the time with modern games, it works very well. The biggest annoyance nowadays is when developers choose not to include PlayStation icons, so you get Xbox prompts when using a PlayStation controller (saw this recently in Hades and the Atelier Ryza games). Studios are getting better at this, though, and Steam has built-in drivers for all kinds of controller, including PlayStation and Switch. - @Farr0kh with a cable, yes. Wireless doesn't work unless you're using something like DS4Windows

I have read several reports that DualSense works. I suspect results will be the same for DualShock 4.
For DualSense users: haptics might not work on PC if you use a bluetooth connection, so you might get better results with a wired connection.
For DualSense and DualShock users: If the icons are wrong, make sure you're not using third party software like DS4Input that turn your controller into an Xbox controller. When playing on Steam, you may need to disable support for your controller in the Steam settings, since the game supports it natively. - EA_David3 years ago

Just to pop in with a quick confirmation, I plugged in my DS4 on (no special software) and it worked as usual. Doesn't work stock for me on DS4 controller when using bluetooth, just by cable.
Hey David,
id like to reproduce your results but ive tried for the last hour or so to no avail.
I started Jedi Survivor via EA play app, DS4 plugged in: no controller recognized at all.
Started game via Steam Big Picture Mode (add non-steam game, worked perfect for Fallen Order). With the DS4 profile enabled and DS4 plugged in: Controller works, but only Xbox layout.
Started EA Play App via BPM (add-non steam game), same setting as line above: Controller works, but again Xbox layout.
I know i could just give up and accept the xbox layout. But have you done anything different?
regards,
Ach
Im on Windows, and starting the game via Big Picture mode on steam does not give me the DS4 button layout. Even when disabling controller support in the steam settings.
What am I missing?
regards,
Ach
