Australian server ping fix

Since the shut down of the APAC servers I have found it very hard to connect and play properly on the American servers, I was wonder if there is any tips or tricks I can do to reduce my ping on those servers. I have already tried a Ping Reducer which seems to work a little bit, but I still get freezes and hang ups when trying to play.

Which ISP are you with , What server and what ping are you getting ?

    Me

iinet (Brisbane) , Harbinger , 170ms and no issues playing 99.99% (00.01% is when Harbinger Crashes ... )

EDIT - Without seeing any tracert or pathpings, try www.wtfast.com or www.reducethelag.com and see if any affect

I am currently with DoDo, playing on Harbinger and my ping fluctuates from 400 - 500 and then sometimes just loses connection all together and will freeze for 10 - 30 seconds just to then fling me past the 30 odd seconds I missed back into the 400ms ping.

I am currently using Reduce the Lag which does help hold it at the 400ms. without it it used to just fly around randomly, I did try WTFast first off but I noticed better results with RTL

Knowing that ISP's in NZ can and do throttle speeds, last I heard bigpond and a few others did the same over there, any chance you have tried running a speed test via www.speedtest.net and physically changing the 'test location' to San Jose in the States?... what kind of speeds do you get when things are ugly in game for you?...

I do know that Owen's (@proxos666) connection/speeds are damn right criminal... so much bandwidth .. but he's the abnormality not the norm.

  • "San Jose" Owen... no one cares about Brisbane unless they have a swtor server there...

Mine is alittle uglier then normal, usually around the 156ms; but speeds look right.
