C2-N2 Gone

After the patch, all of my Republic toons are missing C2-N2. I noticed that none of his gear was in my inventory or the mail, and when I went to see what he had equipped, he's nowhere to be found. He's not on the ship and not in my Alliance window.

I heard that starting KotFE removes him so you can have the option of "recruiting" him into your story, but I'm not eligible for early access and none of my pub toons have even hit 60 yet. All of my imp toons (two 60s, a 38, and a 29) have their ship droid, 2V-R8, so I'm assuming it's a pub-side only glitch. I've seen people on the swtor.com forums saying they've lost him, as well, so it appears to be a common issue.

Any chance there's a fix in the works?

So far seems like a bug. Not much you can do but wait for them to fix it.

both my droids are missing C2-N2 and 2V-R8  i got droid parts in the mail all i can do is sell them  i use or rather used  2V-R8  the most on my main hopefully it is abug or someone can tell us how to get the droids back

edit to add from the patch notes All Droid Gear have been changed into a “Valuable Droid Part” which sells for a decent amount of Credits to vendors.

This can be fixed by traveling (via ship) to Odessan, one of the new planets in the Wild Space sector of the galaxy map. Once there, you enter the cantina (cave), and you will see both C2-N2 and 2V-R8. Both droids will have brief dialogue quests available. Speak to them, and they will both be added to your companion roster. At that point, you can again equip their customizations and weapons.

This seems to be an issue with the split of pre-KoTFE C2N2, and post-KoTFE C2N2, wherein they conflict with one another (which is possibly why treek was wearing C2N2's customization upon login after 4.0). Bringing yours up to date with the current EP seems to resolve the problem.

Some Players need a way to get back our Ship Droids without utilizing new expansion locations or items. Not everyone is going to play the new areas. What about those Players that chose not to go Subscription and still stay F2P and Preferred? What about Players like the OP who don't have any characters to lvl 60 yet and therefore aren't ready to advance to the new content?

You don't have to play the area - it does not require you to be level 60, as I did it on a low level toon. You literally land, turn around, walk in a cave, and talk to your droid. I also don't have early access, and I was still able to access the area. I am not sure if that applies to F2P players, but if you don't feel like waiting for a fix to get your droid back and fully functional, this is the best solution.

Like I said, this is just a workaround until the devs patch a fix resolving the companion conflicts (which hopefully, bringing the entire playerbase up to the same level with KoTFE will accomplish).
