Can't go past level 60

A couple of days ago I updated my game to Knights of the Fallen Empire. I have been a subscriber so was hoping to play the early access.  After updating the game, I logged onto my Jedi Knight who was level 59 at the time, and very close to leveling to 60.  I killed some enemies until I leveled up, then noticed that my exp bar stayed in the full position.  My character is level 60 but it says that I am 1 exp away from gaining a level and is stuck like that, no matter how much exp I gain.  I've seen other players around who are above level 60, which is why I'm confused.  My dad also plays that game and is not having this issue.  My dad also told me that a bunch of his companions had a lot of conversations on his ship.  None of my companions had any quest icons for me, and I've also noticed that they haven't been gaining affection during regular mission convo's.  I am able to get the new storyline quests, but I don't want to continue doing them if my exp is not being counted for it.  Has anyone else had this issue?
