Can't link SWTOR account to Origin

Hi all!

I've played SWTOR for a couple of years with longer and shorter breaks. I've just started wondering if I can link my SWTOR account to Origin. After googling some, I've seen that if one has the same E-mail for SWTOR and Origin, he should be able to have SWTOR automatically in the Origin library.

Well I do use the same E-mail from SWTOR, EA Account and Origin so everything should be unified, yet I don't see SWTOR in my library and if I look for it in the Store and want to add the F2P version to my library it brings me to the SWTOR Register side and if there I click on Log-In, it automatically redirects me to the Add Subscription page and the game is still not in my library.

Does this mean that SWTOR only gets added to your account, if you actually buy something? I have actuallly thought of buying the Standard Edition but I'm not even sure at this moment if it would get added to my current acount.

I know I can add SWTOR manually but then it would be recognized as a non-Origin game and it's clearly possible to have the "proper" SWTOR in your library.

Any tips? What could I do?

Thanks!

As far as I know you can add the standard retail code once to an account, that is what I have been told from the start

This is listed as the standard edition on origin, So it should add once to the account

    No this is incorrect

Purchasing a physical retail DVD box with a serial code can be added to Origin Library, If the standard retail pack is purchased on origin it may also add (this can only be purchased once for the account.

What difference do you think exists having as a non origin game as opposed to a origin game ?

both will add the swtor icon to the game libraryThere is no other benefit

  • Sorry for the late reply, I've been away in the past days.

From other forums I did get the impression that due to SWTOR and Origin both being connected to the EA account, it would automatically sync all so I would also be able to play SWTOR via Origin.
I also read that there are even Origin achievements but these might be incorrect as well. My main wish with Origin would be to track the played hours.

Also, I've decided that I'd like to buy the Standard Edition - Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Digital Starter Pack on Origin for 13€ which seems like a nice alternative of subscribing as it would add some of the new expansions as well and I won't have to renew it each month (cuz I don't even know if I'll play this game for that long in one run).
So would you say, it's possible that if I buy that on Origin, I would be able to add it to my existing SWTOR account or it might just auto-create a new account?

What about adding the digital version of Swtor to origin?

I kind of have the same problem, however I'm lacking a retail code as I've downloaded the game from the swtor site rather than purchased it from a store.

Any help would be appreciated, although I do understand not wanting to reply to a solved thread.

  • I'm also having trouble with this issue, has it been fixed? I got Star Wars the Old Republic about 3 years ago. I played it alot made 8 characters and dropped it for 2 years and became a preferred player. Now I have Origin recently downloaded, and I can't add Swtor to the game library, even after changing my ea account to a different email,  and verifying sw first, then origin through my email I want.

  • I was only interested in having them linked, due to the way Origin downloads updates for games automatically, also to buy the origin cards to get cartel coins.

    @EternalDruid

Origin updates will not work with SWTOR due to the Launcher being a separate application and needing separate login information in order to start the patching process.

Buying SWTOR products should work regardless of what acocunt you buy them on, Origin will just send you a code that you can redeem on any account.
