cartel items
have an artifact light saber equipped and have gone free to play now its saying i need the unlock to use and have a cartel color crystal as well that's saying it needs it as well and i have paid coin...

Have you changed the mods around? If you had the unlock while as a sub it remains unlocked when you go f2p/preferred as long as you don't make changes. If you remove or add mods it will make it to require the authorization.
As far as the cartel market items themselves, if they are saying on some that it requires it but others it does not, note whether or not the item is a Purple quality item. If it is, then it requires the authorization regardless of whether you used it in the past because it's not bound to an item pior to change to f2p/preferred.
The best way to get around this would be to purchase the artifact authorization unlock for either the account or just that character to allow you to use it.
that makes no sense why would only 1 of the cartel crystals that i unlocked account wide now say i need the artifact unlock when the rest do not and same for the light saber why does it say it needs the unlock when the light saber in my off hand does not? and yes they are the same had to run the FP 3 more times to get the 2nd light saber to drop.
