Character Versioning Error

Just logged in and got a patch download. now when I log in the game tells me my version differs to that on the server and wont let me play. Any ideas?

I started the game today, and the launcher wanted to download a patch. When it finished and the game started, I got a message box:

"Your current game version does not match the server's, please restart the game. Follow the Help Center link below for more Information."

I played earlier without problems.

ignore the error message and you can play

No you can't. I click the OK in the window with the error message and get kicked to the desktop.

more worried about getting rolled back or even a ban from playing with wrong version because of possible exploits etc

apparently you can play if you completely ignore the pop up and just click the play button instead but could be risky

OK, a quick follow up to my own reply.  Do NOT click the OK in the error message box.  You just select the character you want to play and go on like normal.

We have figured out what the issue is and we have a few options on how to proceed. What we are going to do is we are going to move tomorrow's maintenance up to right now, meaning there will no longer be a maintenance tomorrow morning. Within the next 15-30 minutes we will be bringing all servers down as we deploy Game Update 4.7 and Chapter 16.

This means that as the servers come back up 4.7 will be live and you will have access to Chapter 16 Early Access if you qualified. We do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, but with this solution you will be getting Chapter 16 and GU 4.7 even sooner than planned.

This means that starting soon SWTOR servers will be unavailable for approximately 4 hours (hopefully less). We will be keeping SWTOR.com available during this period.
